Why 'Boudica'?

logo_boudica_edited.png

Boudica (also spelled Boadicea or Boudicca) was a queen of the British Iceni tribe who led an uprising against the occupying Roman Empire in AD 60 or 61. She is an iconic figure in the history of the British Isles and represents resistance against oppression.

We are using her name to signify resistance against mainstream, commercial, or mass-produced products and instead emphasize unique, artisanal, or locally-sourced items.
